The Hawker

This renovation in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs was designed for a young professional couple seeking to modernise their dated 90s home. The brief was clear: transform a compact ensuite and walk-in robe into a more functional, contemporary space with ample storage, and update the laundry and powder room to reflect their personal style.

We reimagined the existing layout by extending the ensuite into the original walk-in robe, allowing space for a luxurious walk-in shower and a new double vanity with custom cabinetry, integrated towel storage, and a striking natural marble feature wall. A feature pendant light and earthy, natural tones throughout added warmth and sophistication.

To maximise storage, we cleverly reworked the floorplan—stealing space from the ensuite, walk-in robe, and master bedroom—to install a full wall-to-wall wardrobe with a concealed door leading into the ensuite. Each wardrobe was custom-built and fully fitted to the clients’ needs, combining functionality with clean, modern lines.

In the laundry, we replaced the stacked washer and dryer with a side-by-side configuration beneath a full-length benchtop, vastly improving usability and storage. The powder room became a true highlight of the home—a guest-ready space featuring statement forest-inspired wallpaper, a custom blue concrete basin, French-blue tapware, and grey terrazzo-look tiles for an unforgettable first impression.
