The Tulip

Located in Cheltenham, The Tulip is a beautifully reimagined single-level home tailored to a growing family of four. The original property, previously owned by an amateur DIY enthusiast, was a mix of incomplete projects, mismatched finishes, and outdated design choices. Our clients came to us with a vision: to transform their house into a cohesive, spacious and professionally designed forever home.

To accommodate the family’s needs, we extended the rear of the property, adding two new bedrooms to create a true five-bedroom layout. At the front of the home, we merged two smaller rooms to create a generous new master suite, complete with a custom-built wardrobe and a private ensuite. The ensuite—once the home’s main bathroom—was redesigned with natural stone finishes, custom feature tiles, a bespoke double vanity, and his-and-hers basins for a luxurious yet functional space.

The third original bedroom was transformed into a multi-purpose room that now functions as both a study and music room—ideal for a busy family lifestyle.

One of the most creative transformations in this project was the conversion of an unused bar into a striking powder room. Our in-house design team developed a custom tile layout paired with a stunning Italian marble vanity in ‘Emily’ stone, delivering a refined yet unique feature space for guests.

To finish, we added skylights for improved natural light, replaced all windows and carpets, updated the lighting throughout, and painted the entire home—resulting in a bright, cohesive and contemporary feel.

The Tulip now offers the perfect blend of warmth, space and functionality. The kids are loving their brand new bedrooms in the extension, and the whole family is delighted to have a thoughtfully designed home that finally reflects their lifestyle.
